Philosophy in the Making

 Over the years, The Hofmeister Group has been involved in the construction of a variety of medical offices and complexes. However, in February of 1999, Tom Hofmeister and The Hofmeister Group built its first ALF(Adult Living Facility) in Tavares, Florida. The privilege of building a structure that would be appreciated by many families over many years was an unforgettable experience. To the average passerby, it may simply be an appealing building on the corner, but in the hearts and mind of those who passed through its doors, that ALF will be forever attached to a fond memory of a loved one.

 Constructing that first ALF ignited a passion within Tom to wonder about creating not only a building possessing the warmth and comfort of home, but also an entire Senior Living campus that would contribute to a legacy of hope and fulfillment. Influenced by his own personal experiences in dealing with aging family members, he wanted to create architecture that would support innovative ideas and foster a culture where a senior resident’s individual spirit and gifts could be celebrated and given maximum opportunity to flourish. In 2008 he set out to do just that.

The First Step

 In order to achieve this major undertaking, Tom and his partner, Dave Croson, began assembling a team of experts from all facets of Senior Care comprised of consultants, architects, engineers, and construction professionals along with a multitude of healthcare providers including doctors,nursing staff, managers and even those specializing in Alzheimer/Dementia Care.

As a result of the culmination of hundreds of meetings,interviews, and field trips to senior facilities, the vision of Osprey Lodge at Lakeview Crest began to materialize.

Just the Beginning

 As the development of Osprey Lodge is realized, it represents only the beginning of what is envisioned to be a host of communities that set the standard for superior senior living.
